A body of work devoted to healing, self-compassion, and embodied living.

Meet Ann

I am a transpersonal psychologist and somatic psychotherapist, as well as an author and educator. I created the Embodied Self-Compassion intervention, which carefully utilizes words to guide individuals in bringing their embodied experience and awareness to life. My work integrates neuroscience, trauma-informed approaches, and a psychospiritual framework to help you reconnect with the wisdom of your body.

I developed the Befriending Your Body Program (BFYB)™, a somatic, self-compassion-based recovery program aimed at addressing disordered eating and promoting body reconnection. Additionally, I train professionals through the BFYB Somatic Certification Training program, and I am excited that this program has reached individuals and clinicians worldwide.

With decades of clinical experience and advanced training in anatomy, nervous system regulation, somatic therapy, mindfulness, and self-compassion-based methodologies, I have crafted a unique approach to healing disordered eating, body image issues, and trauma through embodiment.

I maintain a private therapy, teaching, and consultation practice in Saratoga Springs, NY. On any given day, you can find me practicing and teaching yoga and meditation in my community, as well as enjoying time with my family, friends, nature, animals, and music—embracing an embodied life.
